Paper Pumpkin

I’ve had a paper pumpkin subscription for quite a long time. I will say that I still have many kits that I did not put together from the beginning. But I’m here to tell you, the kits that they have been sending over the last year just keep getting better and better. I received my February kit this week and got together Friday night with some friends and put my kit together. I am really hoping that the DSP (Designer Series Paper) they used in this kit becomes available for sale, the succulents are so pretty.

Happy Tails – Sympathy Card

A friend of mine had to make that difficult decision that so many of us are faced with when are fur babies are ill. Deb had adopted Buddy even though she knew he was deaf. They adjusted together along with her other fur babies. She trained with Buddy to be a disc dog and they had fun going to competitions. A couple of weeks ago Buddy became blind and with his deafness it was very difficult to get around. Buddy had served his purpose with his unconditional love. Deb and Buddy made many new friends during the disc competitions. Buddy will be missed.

Happy Tails is a good set when you have to make those hard to make cards. Below is the card I made for Deb

I used Crushed Curry for the card base and the Classic Garage DSP for the gray center and the heart that was die cut using the Be Mine Stitched Framelit Dies. The sentiment came from the Happy Tails stamp set. The dog silhouette was punched out with the Dog Builder Punch. The epoxy hearts were colored using the Real Red Stampin Blends.

Please see below to order the product to make this card.

VACATION

I must apologize for my little hiatus. My husband, myself, my daughter and son in law went on a cruise to the Caribbean. We left from San Juan and went to St Thomas, Barbados, St Kitts St. Lucia and St Maarten. The islands are just beautiful. You could still see some damage from the hurricane two years ago, but they are rebuilding.

St. Thomas Magen’s Bay

Magen’s Bay had such white sand and clear water. We found a couple of sea turtles while we were swimming That was so cool, I have never swam with a sea turtle before.

Barbados

On Barbados we went on a catamaran ride and went snorkeling in two locations. This time snorkeling with sea turtles was part of the trip and then we snorkeled over a sunken ship. I love to snorkel. We went snorkeling for the first time four years ago and now every time we go on a cruise I want to snorkel. I don’t understand why my husband tells me that we can’t snorkel on every excursion. This excursion was the best. We had so much fun on the catamaran singing and dancing, the rum punch was flowing freely. They served a delicious lunch on the catamaran. Will definitely go on this excursion again.

St Lucia Pitons

In St. Lucia we went on a very long catamaran ride around the island. We stopped at a beach for a little bit. My daughter got stung by a jellyfish ouch! I got stung by something, not sure what, but I got out of that water fast.

St. Kitts

St. Kitts we went to the beach and saw a sea urchin and a star fish. I was excited seeing the star fish, I’ve never seen a live star fish. There was a local woman offering to give me a aloe massage on my legs and feet. I kept telling her that I was not interested. Eventually she sat down next to me and said let me show you, yeah that was that. She was using a shell to scrape the aloe out of the leaves and massaging into my legs and feet…. oh my did that feel good. $25 later I told my husband she was a good saleswoman. lol

St. Maarten

Again another beautiful island. We were on a beach next to the airport, the planes taking off looked like they were going to fly right into the mountain and then at the last minute they would go straight up. There actually is a beach next to the beach we were on that the planes fly right over the beach and the thrust from the plane throws you into the water.

So again I apologize for not blogging for a month, but I really enjoyed my much needed vacation.
