I had a few minutes to play with the Geared Up Garage set tonight from the, soon to be released, Occasions Catalog. I always stumble when I have to make a masculine card. I have trouble trying to figure out what stamp set would be masculine enough. This set makes it really easy to make masculine cards. If you have a need to make masculine cards or know someone that is what we use to call a “gear head” (I’m now dating myself) this is a perfect set. The dies not only cut out the stamped images, but also cut out the images on the Designer Series Paper. For this card I used tranquil tide as a card base and crushed curry layered behind the Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ DSP. I die cut the gears from silver foil. The car was stamped with Memento Ink and colored using the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and die cut using the Garage Gears Thinlits. The greeting was stamped with Tranquil Tide and die cut using the Frosted Bouquet Framelits. The cute little wrench comes from the Classic Garage Metal Elements. The ribbon is the Striped Metallic Ribbon.

Stampin’ Up New Cling Stamps

Now that the Christmas cards are finally finished, I got the opportunity to use the new Cling Stamps. They are wonderful! No more issues with your stamps falling off the block just as you start to stamp. These new stamps will be available in the Occasions Catalog starting on January 3, 2019.

Stampin’ Up is discontinuing the red rubber stamps on the wooden blocks. The red rubber stamps will now be the cling stamps that you will use on the clear acrylic blocks. The only exception will be the background stamps will still be available on the wooden block.

I was a little concerned that the stamps are so clingy that my loving, clingy dog, Chewy, that sheds 24/7 365 days would be all over my stamps, but just wash them in clear water and it comes right off.

I can’t wait for you to try these stamps, I’m sure you are going to love them as much as I do.

We celebrated last night, at my daughters, and had so much fun. I thought as the kids became adults that there would be less under the tree, not in our house!M

First Frost Retirement Card

If your like me, all of a sudden I need retirement cards. At the end of the year I have several co-workers and relatives that are retiring. I made this retirement card using the First Frost Bundle. I used a standard A2 card base with Mint Macaron and the Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP). The shimmer on this designer paper is just awesome. I made a slit in the middle of the DSP and folded the edges over showing the other side of the paper. I just love the distinctive stamps that Stampin’ Up came out with. I used Winka Stella on the Merry Merlot flowers and some of the leaves. The Winka Stella will pickup some of the color from the Merry Merlot ink, but it doesn’t change the shading on the stamped image.
